Release Forms and a medical statement prior to any in water training

If you have to answer "yes" to ANY question on the form we will need a medical release signed 

by a physician.

Now its time to get wet!

Watermanship assessment which consist of swimming a few laps in the pool, water tread and/or float

Gear assembly  

The above can take 1- 2 sessions at the pool.

Once you have learned all the skills in the pool, you will be ready for your open water check out

dives.

We will spend one weekend, 2 days, at one of our area lakes or some other pre-arranged

destination. You will complete 4 dives demonstrating the skills you have learned. 

That's it! 

When the 4 open water dives are complete you will receive your Open Water

Diver Certification.  Your certification will be

recognized anywhere in the world.

Nitrox (Enriched Air)

Enriched air allows for more bottom time, preferred for multiple dives, and feel less tired at the end of the diving day.

Rescue Diver

Rescue training teaches you how to prevent problems, manage emergencies calmly, and assist other divers in need.  Learn self rescue techniques and improve confidence in the water.

Deep Diver

Explore the maximum recreational depth limits. Allows divers to access deeper waters in a safe manner, helps to understand dive planning such as air management, narcosis, and decompression limits. 

Equipment Specialist

Knowing how to manage your own equipment is part of your personal safety program. You will learn self reliance, build confidence in your gear, and will make you a better diver.  

Peek Performance Buoyancy

Mastering your buoyancy is a game changer in diving.  Once you accomplish this, you will dive safer (for you and the underwater world)  have better air consumption, more control, and be more comfortable in the water.  

Refresher Program

If it's been a while since your last dive, a refresher is highly recommended to help sharpen your skills, boost your confidence, increase safety for you and your dive buddy, and often, meet the requirements of the dive company your are diving with.

Master Diver Certification

If you’re looking for a goal to work toward in 2026, Master Scuba Diver is the highest certification achievement for recreational divers. 

This certification recognizes advanced training, experience, and dedication to the sport. Many of the classes we offer—including Rescue and Peak Performance Buoyancy—count toward this certification, making our 2026 schedule a perfect opportunity to check off requirements and reach this milestone.

Once you have completed your Master Diver Certification, you will receive a Horizons Unlimited Master Diver Jacket. Our jackets are a mark of achievement and not for sale.
